AdvanceWorks developed an OutSystems software product that helps to automate the courses registration and student selection. 

In response to the evolving needs of one of the world’s most prestigious universities, specifically to their registration department, AdvanceWorks led the implementation of a sophisticated software product to automate the courses registration and student selection that included a complex selection algorithm, ensuring the traceability of the decision-making process.  

Technologies and Methodologies 

Low-Code Development (OutSystems) 

• AdvanceWorks used the power of OutSystems, a low-code platform for rapid development, allowing quicker iterations and adaptability to changing requirements. 

Agile and Scrum Methodologies 

• The project embraced Agile and Scrum methodologies, ensuring a collaborative and iterative approach that kept the team responsive to evolving needs. 

Team Collaboration 

A multidisciplinary team composed of 8 individuals equipped with diverse skills and expertise, collaborated to bring this sophisticated solution to life. The project was completed within a 4-month timeframe. 

Goals Achieved 

The main goals for this project were: 

• To automate the entire course registration and student selection processes, significantly reducing manual efforts and ensuring accuracy in decision-making. 
• To prioritize user experience, providing an intuitive interface for both university staff and students.  

• To not only deliver swiftly but also laid foundation for cost-effective future updates and feature additions. This was all possible by employing a low-code approach, specifically with OutSystems 

 Result 

The result was a seamless and enjoyable interaction with the system. Feedback from both the university´s business stakeholders and students has been overwhelmingly positive. The solution has not only met but exceeded their expectations, leading to high levels of satisfaction.
